Convey Media began in October 2009 as a sole proprietorship by Sara B Caldwell. The business was incorporated in July 2011. Convey Media, Inc., is a small corporation that provides web design, development and green hosting to small businesses and professionals in Westchester County, just outside of New York City.
Currently, Sara works in the evening hours, and is available by phone from 5-10 p.m. Tue through Fri, and Sat from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (She has other full-time employment.) Please allow up to 24 hours for a returned email due to the evening schedule.
Prices are extremely reasonable: Green hosting (servers in Chicago, IL) is $4 per month for unlimited bandwidth and data transfer. Web design begins at $149.
Sara prefers using open-source content management platforms as the backbone of every site, primarily Joomla and WordPress. The platform modX was used up until recently, as the back-end of the site was too difficult for clients to navigate and add new content.
The business is a passion of providing quality service and sites to small businesses who can otherwise not afford them. After receiving her Masters in Publishing from Pace University in 2009, she knew that she wanted to begin a company that could address not only the design of a site, but also its content, search engine optimization and ease of use for the clients themselves.
Sara also believes in good business practices, and works with other local developers and designers to serve her clients. Additionally, her home office is powered by Green Mountain Energy, a wind-power supplier to the state of New York.
